DIGIMON COROMON MOVIE
He does look a little bit creepy, at least, which is fitting, because a lot of those earlier Digimon tried to keep a balance between creepy, cool, and cute-looking, where appropriate.īotamon is notable for being the first Digimon you can raise in the first Digimon virtual pet, as well as being the very first Digimon seen in animated form, in the Digimon Adventure movie (barring, a few commercials for the early v-pets, I don’t know what those were really like so I can’t say for certain they weren’t animated). Botamon sets the mold, really, for most Digimon like him, and he does that well enough, but it’s not particularly exciting. He’s the atypical “small disembodied head with eyes”, and his only really distinguishing feature is that’s fuzzy. It is unable to battle as it has just been born, but it can produce bubble-like objects from its mouth to intimidate the enemy. On the surface of its slime-shaped body, it has grown thick, black fuzz. While this, along with the rest of the dub Level names kind of screws up the whole “growth cycle” theme, I have to admit, the dub names make these two levels a bit easier to talk about/tell apart.īotamon - Slime Digimon | Attribute: NoneĪttacks: Acid Bubbles (Dub) Bubble BlowĪ Digital Monster that was born just recently. One final note: While these stages are known as “Baby” and “Baby II” in Japan, the dub calls them “Fresh” and “In-Training”. This is because the first couple crops of Babies were meant to be more general, all purpose pre-evolutions for a wide variety of Child-level Digimon, so their features are less distinct. While a lot of the original Baby Digimon have little in the way of features that connect them to the evolved forms they’d use in the anime, the ones introduced later would have stronger connections to the Digimon they were meant for. They’re designed to be small, cute, and the franchise usually only utilizes them in the virtual pets or need some cute mascot action.Īnyway, most Baby Digimon are usually classified as “Slime” or “Lesser” Digimon and tend to lack attributes like Vaccine, Data, and Virus, which emphasizes their being the less developed, or “larval” stage of a Digimon’s growth. Baby Digimon are… well, they’re very simple.
